Disciplinary Hearing – 13/11/2011

The GFSN League committee met yesterday (Sunday 13th November 2011) and conducted a disciplinary hearing for Andrew Bishop of Birmingham Blaze FC, in relation to his conduct after their game against Bristol Panthers on Sunday 11th September 2011.
The panel compromised:
- Chris Basiurski (league chair)
- Allan Simpson (general secretary)
- Terry Connolly (competitions secretary)
- Andrew Corti (league treasurer)
Having reviewed all the evidence provided by Birmingham Blaze FC, a written submission from the match referee, and a written statement in mitigation from Andrew himself, the league has found:
Andrew guilty of using language or behaviour amounting to improper conduct toward a match official.
The league has imposed:
- a 4 game suspension on Andrew for all GFSN League & Cup matches as a result of his conduct after the match. On top of this, Andrew also accrues an automatic 1-game suspension for the original red card.
This suspension is effective from 10th September 2011 and totals 5 GFSN National League and Cup matches.
Birmingham Blaze FC may appeal this suspension within
The committee would like to place on record it’s gratitude to Birmingham Blaze FC for co-operating freely with the disciplinary hearing, and providing all relevant statements. It was also noted the professionalism in which the club dealt with the issue internally.
